Latest Pool Update
Posted on Sep 11th, 2020
As you know, the swimming pool was closed pursuant to the State and County Orders due to health and safety concerns about the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The revised Contra Costa County Order permits outdoor swimming pools to open, subject to specific limitations and rules. The Board has taken considerable steps to ensure the safety of all pool users, including limiting the number of users in the pool facility to one household at a time, requiring additional cleaning and sanitization of the facility and all high touch surfaces and the adoption of these emergency rules. All normal pool rules also remain in effect.
Civil Code section 4360(d) allows the Board to make an immediate rule change to address an imminent threat to public health or safety, or an imminent risk of substantial economic loss to the Association.
The new
Pool Rules (included as part of the Health and Safety Plan), governing the use of the swimming pool facility, were recently adopted by the Board of Directors on July 17, 2020, pursuant to Civil Code section 4360(d). These rules are effective immediately in addition to the regular season rules and will be remain in effect for 120 days, unless the Board determines they should be revoked earlier or the pool closes for the season.
There is also a
liability release and the Association’s
health and safety plan for opening the pool. Please take a moment to read through each of these documents if you plan to use the pool as we need your help to ensure that the pool is safe to use and clean for all guests. You do not need to return the liability waiver at this time. This copy is for your records. Each household will electronically sign the waiver when making their pool reservation.
Reservation System Required
In order to comply with the County requirements to open the pool without a social distancing monitor, only one household may use the pool at a time and each household must have a reservation. Failure to follow this requirement will result in the pool being closed. Each reservation period will be for 50 minutes starting on the hour. The 10 minute buffer period allows time for exiting the pool before the next household arrives.
Reservations may be made online 7 days in advance by going to
https://RudgearMeadows.getomnify.com. At this time, the Board will not be limiting the number of reservations that families can make, but we ask that everyone be reasonable and respectful of other families wanting to use the pool. If families monopolize the pool, the Board reserves the right to set limits on the number of reservations.
The pool will open beginning on Friday, July 24.
Sanitization
The Association will perform sanitization of all high touch surfaces on a nightly basis.
At the entry gate there will be a jug of hand sanitizer and a spray bottle with disinfectant in it. The disinfectant can be sprayed directly on any non-porous surface and left wet for 5 seconds. It does not need to be wiped away. We are asking all pool users to perform additional sanitization at the beginning and end of your pool shift to protect yourself and the next pool users.
Restrooms and Furniture
In order to limit the number of surfaces to be cleaned, the pool furniture will not be out for use this season. We ask that each household bring their own chairs, blankets or towels to sit on during their pool session. Please remember to take all items home with you.
Additionally, the restrooms will be locked and not available for use. Please be sure to have everyone use the bathroom prior to coming to the pool.
We understand that the pool use this summer is much different than what most of us expected and appreciate everyone’s cooperation with the enclosed information so that we can keep the pool open as an outdoor activity for everyone to enjoy.
